So the title says it all and I'll keep it simple. T-mobile has enabled 4x4 MIMO on their network.
The answer is the Nexus 6P does not completely support T-Mobile's new 4x4 MIMO tech.... So let me first explain..
Carrier Aggregation is a phone's ability to use multiple lanes on a highway (think cars!) which means less traffic jams since you have all the highways available and can increase the speed since more lanes are in use. Qualcomm used beer to teach about Carrier Aggregation lol
MIMO Technology (Keep Carrier Aggregation in mind) this allows you to combine multiple highways and use the speed of each highway to increase your download speed for videos, files, etc.
The reason MIMO is important is because combining bands combines download speeds. So you can double or triple your Upload and Download speed by utilizing MIMO technology + Carrier Aggregation depending on your modem.
The complicated part is if your phone supports MIMO technology, there are some things to consider:
So How Fast will this make my phone? It depends on your phone, in the case of the Nexus 6P, it supports 2x2 MIMO.
How can I tell if the feature has been enabled? Since I'm focusing on T-mobile here is a chart that will tell you. The assumption is if the area supports 4x4 MIMO it will support 3x3 and lower as well.

TLDR: Nexus supports 300mpbs maximum and can only use 2x2 MIMO on T-Mobiles or MetroPCS network.
