Hi I have a ZE551ML and it is in a pretty sturdy case. The other day it took a fall and since It is unable to charge and the sim/sd card slots don't work. After watching a few teardowns I am guessing the fall knocked one of the connectors loose (since the one connector in question would support all of what has stopped working). I set up an RMA but am afraid to send it in because it has 9% battery left and I have a ton of pictures that I would like to get off and all of my accounts are synced and I am not sure I would be able to unsync them in time and do a full restore.
Does anyone have experience with ASUS RMA and how they handle data recovery or will the just blast the phone when they get it? Also is it worth biting the bullet and popping it open to see if that connector is indeed loose?
The phone is in pristine shape thanks to the case and still in warranty. I am afraid to break the warranty screw just to see if it is just a conector.
Any help is appreciated.
