In need of a little guidance

So today I went out and got me a Note T-mobile Note 4 off CL. The jackhole I bought it from forgot to mention the phone was modded but anyways that's Craigslist right? [emoji16] so I went and tried to factory reset which took me to a screen I believe is a custom recovery but want to verify. There was no SU or any root apps installed. Since I was going to mod phone anyway I'm not too worried but would like an Idea of what should do as far as updating/changing since I'm new to Samsung forums.
